Will I notice any discomfort during my treatments?
An important goal of physical therapy is to relieve pain. There is a chance, however, as you restore your mobility, that your pain levels will fluctuate. Rest assured that this is a normal response to physical therapy treatment and not a cause for concern. It’s okay if an exercise is painful as long as:
- any pain with the exercise stops when you stop the exercise
- the pain decreases as you continue with the exercise
- YOU are able to realize a benefit for having done the exercise
Together, you and Paul the Physical Therapist will work to minimize any discomfort you may experience.
