McKenzie Method
The McKenzie Method empowers you to control your own symptoms. We will educate you to effectively prevent pain from recurring. In the event that pain does recur, you will have the tools to, in many cases, alleviate that pain. This treatment method can teach you to function in ways less likely to provoke pain symptoms. The McKenzie Method often leads to fewer clinic visits, saving you time and money. We also offer a variety of McKenzie products designed to work alongside treatment.

Specific Stabilization Training
This unique system directly addresses deficits in motor/muscular control of the spine. Restoring muscle control often turns into effective pain control. In randomized controlled studies of this method, patients who underwent stabilization training were 12 times less likely to experience a recurrence of back pain following an initial episode.
Ultrasound Imaging for Biofeedback and Measurement of Muscle Size
Ultrasound imaging is used with stabilization training to improve the patient’s ability to control the muscles providing effective spinal stability. Individuals with lower back pain show a decrease in back muscle size. This technique allows us to measure your muscle size and adjust the treatment program to your exact needs. We can visualize your muscle movement as you perform treatment exercises to make sure you are performing them in the most effective manner.
Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy is a term used to describe a ‘hands on’ treatment approach where joints, muscles, ligaments and other soft tissues are mobilized or manipulated by a therapist to achieve a therapeutic benefit. Cedar Hill’s approach to manual therapy decreases pain, improves range of motion, and enables you to self treat more effectively. Paul integrates manual treatment into your self management routine to provide lasting results.
Patient Education
Physical therapy patients are often times misled regarding the nature of their condition. This causes unnecessary fear and distress, which can actually counteract positive therapy results! Most mechanical spinal disorders are relatively benign conditions. Patients who are educated in safe and appropriate ways to resume a normal lifestyle enjoy much better therapy results and long-term comfort. Patient education is a core piece of our treatment programs so that you come to understand your health issues and take effective control of managing them.
