By working with you, and in some cases with your doctor, we can discuss your options and help determine if physical therapy will be the right choice for you. Call us today to discuss your current condition or click here to request an appointment now.

Will I notice any discomfort during my treatments?

An important goal of physical therapy is to relieve pain. There is a chance, however, as you restore your mobility, that your pain levels will fluctuate. Rest assured that this is a normal response to physical therapy treatment and not a cause for concern. It’s okay if an exercise is painful as long as:

  • any pain with the exercise stops when you stop the exercise
  • the pain decreases as you continue with the exercise
  • YOU are able to realize a benefit for having done the exercise

Together, you and Paul the Physical Therapist will work to minimize any discomfort you may experience.

What can I expect from physical therapy treatments?

With physical therapy, it’s important to know that the overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to prevent the injury or pain from recurring.

Paul the Physical Therapist will evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain, and work to manage or eliminate it.

Paul the Physical Therapist is a trained medical expert when it comes to musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. He will work closely with you and other members of your medical team if applicable to make sure that your treatment plan is as efficient and effective as possible. Physical therapy is a medical, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function.

While every patient’s condition and pain are unique, Paul the Physical Therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels.

How long will each of my sessions be?

Although all patients are different and have different needs, we allot a full hour for each of your sessions. Most sessions run between 45 to 60 minutes with longer sessions available if needed.

The amount of time will be based on your specific needs, and Paul the Physical Therapist will discuss this with you. You will most likely see Paul once or twice per week, to begin with, and as you progress through treatment, your sessions will be more spread out.

How should I dress for my appointments?

Dress comfortably in clothes that allow easy access for Paul the Physical Therapist to examine your problem areas.

For treatments, loose-fitting clothes that are comfortable for gentle exercises and supportive sneakers are often good choices to wear.

When can I expect to notice relief?

By the end of your first treatment session, you and Paul the Physical Therapist will have a reasonable expectation of when to notice relief. Many people notice an improvement in movement and a decrease in pain during their first visit. Oftentimes these changes can be dramatic. Sometimes they’re more subtle. For some people, one to three visits can be enough for them to reach their goals. In other cases, it can take several months for someone to reach their goals. As long as you’re benefiting from Paul’s skilled treatment, he’ll continue to work with you. While most people Paul works with improve, there are some who don’t. (Nobody can truly claim 100% success in treating back and neck pain). In those instances, Paul may recommend a consultation with another healthcare provider for you and him to work in conjunction with.

How do payments work?

Your insurance benefits will be determined before your second visit, and you will be informed of what, if any, payment is necessary on that date.

We accept cash, check, PayPal, cash app, Venmo, VISA, Mastercard, and American Express. We are happy to discuss payment plan options as well. It is our policy that payment is made at the time of service.

Can I continue with physical therapy even when my treatment plan ends?

A treatment plan is an evolving document. Once your initial goals are met, your treatment plan may be revised, a new treatment plan may be created to address a different issue, or a home exercise plan (HEP) may be created to aid you in continuing your exercise regimen at home.

We can also make arrangements to meet you at your gym to work with you on determining what equipment may be beneficial, and what exercises would be helpful in your continued recovery.
